Timber Pest and Termite Inspections

When you are buying or maintaining a property, we recommend engaging a professional timber pest and termite inspector to thoroughly inspect for signs of termite activity and damage. The inspection will comply to AS4349.3 – 2010 and will focus on readily accessible areas inside, outside and around the property, including the foundation, subfloors, roof spacing, wood structures and areas prone to moisture.
How termite inspections work
Our qualified and insured inspectors will leave no area unchecked. They understand termite behaviour and know what to look for and where. The inspections start from up to 30 metres around the property, assessing both internal and external risk factors so we can find termites in dead tree stumps or in structural timbers with excess moisture.
We know our termites well, including the three most common termite species in the Perth region, Coptotermes, Heterotermes, and Nasutitermes, and one of the world’s most destructive termites and a concern in northern WA, the Mastotermes. Our inspectors are trained in the latest techniques and advanced termite inspection tools, such as moisture meters that detect hidden dampness, and acoustic sounding tools that detect hollowed timbers.
We invest in ongoing training through recognised providers like Pesticide Safety WA and Central TAFE to ensure our team remains up to date with best practices.
What we report on
During a timber pest and termite inspection, we check for:
- Active termites or evidence of past activity
- Any other wood borers
- Any structural damage
- Fungal decay
- Conducive conditions, such as excess moisture or timber contact with soil
- Existing termite management systems (and we document the type and installation date)
We then provide a comprehensive report with findings and recommendations, including a management plan where needed. Our goal is to help you protect your property, whether you are purchasing or maintaining a property.
